EBA HR Committee debates with public authorities the amendments to the Labour Code

On February 28th, members of the EBA HR Committee gathered for a new round of discussions, in the presence of the Ministry of Labour, Social and Family Protection representatives. On this occasion, the list of Labour Code modifications, developed by the Ministry, was analyzed. The list was created as a result of the multiple technical meetings at which EBA promoted the proposals of the private sector.

As a result of the cooperation between the Association and the Ministry, 50 proposals for amendments had been analyzed, which led to the amendment of 35 articles of the Labour Code. Mrs Mariana Rufa, EBA Executive Director, underlined that the round of discussions offered the opportune moment to analyse whether the necessary modifications have been included in the list, before submitting it for approval. Mr. Sergiu Morari, Head of the Employment Relationship and Social Partnership directorate within the Ministry, took the floor and presented the included amendments in a detailed manner. The discussion was also led by Ecaterina Chirilenco, Policy & Lobby Manager, who has been actively involved throughout this complex process. EBA members used the opportunity to its fullest and carefully analysed the impact of each listed modification.

We thank the Ministry representatives for their openness to dialogue and the assistance provided to the private sector during this period.
