Helpdesk – an opportunity for the exporters from Moldova in the context of market diversification

Chisinau, 21st of January – EBA Moldova, with the financial support from World Bank project MAC-P (Competitive agriculture), in partnership with Delegation of EU in Chisinau and National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) have organized a workshop for groups of producers recently created in the MAC-P project, as well as other economic agents oriented to export, a training seminar based on a practical demonstration of the electronic application Helpdesk and the procedure of issuing phytosanitary certificates necessary for exports.

The helpdesk application was elaborated by the European Commission and represents a website that gives possibility to every economic agent to collect statistical data needed in order to make well informed decisions in regards to the potential export markets for its products. Helpdesk offers necessary information in regards to the necessary documents for the procedure of export. The EU delegation also offered a presentation concerning the day to day implementation of the Association Agreement and DCFTA.

During the workshop ANSA has presented a simplified procedure of obtaining a phytosanitary certificate necessary to export. Economic agents had the occasion to address questions in regards to the procedure or about the necessary package of documents for obtaining the phytosanitary certificate.

The training seminar from 21st of January took place within the Project Competitive Agriculture in Moldova (MAC-P), implemented by the Project for agricultural competitiveness in Moldova (UCIMPA). In this context EBA Moldova assumed responsibility to offer the necessary assistance in developing a series of practical seminars that come to help groups of producers from Moldova to access new markets. Up to this moment, there were seminars under the following topics: sales, negociations, international contracts, international marketing and requirements for European markets.

At the event participated representatives of the groups of producers, as well as representatives of EBA Moldova, ANSA and of the EU delegation at Chisinau.
