On January 21 more than 45 EBA members participated at a business breakfast with Mrs Julia Otto, Head of the EBRD office in Moldova

Among the topics of discussion were the current situation of the banking system in the RM, the existing programs funded by EBRD, the overall EU support offered to the RM for private sector development, etc. Mrs Otto mentioned that in the context of the DCFTA implementation, there would be targeted support for bolstering the business environment. It was also mentioned about the support which is given to the functioning of the Prime Minister Economic Council - a B2G platform aimed at promoting concrete reforms and eliminating barriers in doing business in Moldova.

Mrs. Otto has also provided explanation to the functioning of MOREF and MOSEF, the two crediting instruments that have been successfully implemented in Moldova as so far.

Mr. Wicher Slagter, Head of Political and Economic Section of the EU Delegation in Republic of Moldova, mentioned about the EU delegation support provided to Moldovan business sector.

The participants at the meeting were encouraged to come forward with their issues they are facing, so as they can be concretely addressed by the specialized EBRD staff in Chisinau.
