On October 11, 2019 a public hearing on draft legal ammendments related to demonopolization of the trade / export of ferrous and non-ferrous metals was organized by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure. EBA attended the meeting jointly with representatives of the industry, Economic Council to the Prime minister and public aitjoroties. EBA shared its Position on the legal ammendments proposed reiterating the need for market demonopolisation in terms of exports of the metal scrap.
The aim of the meeting was to highlight the importance of the need to liberalize the market of the scrap metal export and to identify the best solutions in this respect. Thus, EBA Moldova considers that relevant amendments should be operated in the Law no 2009/2016 on the wastes, mainly introduction of clear criteria and requirements for the obtaining of the export license, as well as the avoidance of any legal interpretation for companies which activates in the inward processing regime.
