In the period of 6-10 August 2017, EBA participates in a study visit to Brussels-Capital Region, focused on best practices in the area of waste management systems. Together with our colleagues from the Environmental Pollution Prevention Office, AmCham Moldova, EBA members – Metro Cash&Carry Moldova and ABS, we learned about packaging waste management systems in Belgium from a presentation delivered by Fost Plus – organization responsible for household packaging waste collection.
EBA study trip to Belgium continued with presentations on the policy framework of WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) from OVAM (Public Waste Agency of Flanders) and Recupel - WEEE collective scheme operating in Belgium. Equally, we made on-site visits to Coolrec - WEEE treatment facility operating in Belgium, Netherlands, France and Germany, then to IVAREM - inter-municipal collection site and finally De Kringwinkel Televil - a reuse center of wastes.
