On 4th of July, EBA Moldova participated at the technical meeting with representatives of the meat processors sector at the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure. The meeting was organised in order to clarify the following aspects:
1. The issue of the distribution of import quotas for pork and chicken from the EU with the possibility of allocating a special quota only to meat processors.
2. Increasing the quota, using the argument that Moldova increased the export quotas of some products (table grapes, plums, wheat, maize etc.) in the EU.
3. Reducing the customs duty for imports of pork and chicken by amending the Combined Nomenclature of Goods (Law 172/2014).
