EBA participated at the meeting of the Economic Council to the Prime-minister, chaired by Mr. Ion Chicu

On 4th of December, EBA participated at the meeting of the Economic Council to the Prime-minister, chaired by Mr. Ion Chicu.
The aim of the meeting was to present the main priorities for 2020 identified by the private sector.

EBA Moldova, as the chair of the Working group Nr. 2 for Trade Facilitation, underlined as priorities to be included on the agenda of the respective working group and in the Government Action Plan for 2020, the following:

- Improvement of customs evaluation methods. It is important to approve amendments to the Government Decision nr. 974/2016.

- Application of the risk assessment methodology by the National Agency for Food Safety, within the border control of the imported food products.
In this respect a import risk assessment methodology should be elaborated as soon as possible.

- Transit through EU of composite products. There is a need to finalize negotiations with the EU Commission in order to obtain permission for the transit of composite product through EU countries.

- Obtaining of the right to export food products into EU market.
Strengthening the dialogue with the EU Commission, identification of financial resources needed for the accreditation of the laboratory system in Moldova, enhancing the ANSA capacities, are needed in this respect.

- Implementation of the extended producer responsibility principle.
There is a need to elaborate and approve a tax refund mechanism for the companies which are implementing the respective principle and to ensure that the taxes collected are transferred to the National Environmental Fund for the implementation of environmental projects.
