Application of the Advertising Law no. 62/ 2022 on the agenda of the EBA

In the light of the request of the European Business Association Moldova, the Association of Banks of Moldova and the Foreign Investors Association in the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of the Republic of Moldova organized today the working meeting with the business environment and the competent authorities to discuss the issues related to the entry in force of the Advertising Law no. 62/2022.

Thus, the following topics were discussed:
- Dissensions regarding the clarification of the exception to the applicability of the mechanism applied to the calculation of the tax for advertising devices subject to authorization and taxation, especially in the case of devices whose dissemination is mandatory according to the law (published information of the exchange rate and prices displayed by PECO stations);
- The urgent need to draw up a Guide to standardize the method of calculating the fee for advertising devices;
- Capping the size of the tax for advertising at a reasonable amount in order to ensure uniform and fair application, throughout the territory of the Republic of Moldova, without exaggerated discrepancies from one locality to another.
- Explanation of the procedure for authorizing advertising devices.
- Explanation of the procedure for calculating the fee for the advertising devices related to the company's inscriptions on cars and the mechanism for authorizing and charging them.
