The implementation of e-KYC, a priority topic on the agenda of EBA Moldova
Technical meeting organized by the National Bank of Moldova in the context of discussions regarding the draft Decision of the Executive Committee on the Regulation for identifying and verifying the identity of customers by electronic means. As representatives of the European Business Association (EBA), I intervened in the debate alongside other representatives of the banking sector.
EBA discussed not only the technical and legal perspectives but also the practical implications of the proposed regulation and the EBA's opinion was presented in the meeting by:
- Natalia Simașco, Co-Chair of the Financial and Capital Markets Committee of the EBA, Head of the Compliance Control Section, Fincombank Compliance Department
- Sergiu Bozianu, director of the Data Protection Law Firm,
- Sandra Dolghii, Fiscal Policy Manager of the EBA.
In addition, the EBA expressed its opinion in advance through Position Paper no. 93-23/SD of November 14, 2023, thus strengthening the arguments and recommendations that I supported during the meeting.
Our active collaboration and expertise in the field have contributed to a constructive debate and to the formulation of effective solutions for the implementation of this vital regulation in the financial sector.
