EBA participated at the event on Buenos Aires Declaration on Trade and Women`s Economic Empowerment: Enhancing the Participation of Women Entrepreneurs and Trades in Government Procurement in Geneva, Switzerland

On 25th of June EBA participated at the event on Buenos Aires Declaration on Trade and Women`s Economic Empowerment: Enhancing the Participation of Women Entrepreneurs and Traders in Government  Procurement, hosted by the Republic of Moldova and organized in cooperation with the World Trade Organization (WTO), International Trade Centre (ITC) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Moldova was represented by Mrs. Corina Cojocaru, Chargée d'affaires to the WTO Permanent Mission of the Republic of Moldova, Mrs. Viorica Pricop, State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Mrs. Mariana Rufa, EBA Executive Director.

In her speech Mrs. Mariana Rufa reiterated the low involvemnet of women in private sector in Moldova compared to South Europe Countries and the importance of promoting women in foreign trade and ensure a higher participation in public procurement process. The event was attended by representatives of various WTO member countries and offered the opportunity in sharing the experience on women involvmenrt in public procurement process in Switzerland, Chile, Coreea, Kenya and other SEE and EU countries.

The event was held in Geneva, Switzerland.
