On July 19, EBA participated in two hearings within the Parliamentary Committee for social protection, health and family. The discussions were focused on the second reading of the draft law on Meal Tickets and first reading of the draft laws bringing amendments to the Labour Code. EBA provided its comments to the draft laws listed above, and presented the position of the private sector.
The meal tickets amount will be a supplement to the basic salary, the value of which is to be annually indexed, based on inflation. The initiative aims to fight salaries in envelopes and tax evasion, and is to be debated in the Parliament’s plenary. In the same meeting, the parliamentarians approved in first reading a series of amendments and additions to the Labour Code of Republic of Moldova.
