On 12th December 2017, EBA participated in a meeting in the Ministry of Economy & Infrastructure to discuss the proposed amendments to the Law on roads affecting negatively the companies in the advertising sector, with potential risks of interference in the principle of local autonomy, due to misinterpretation of the current provisions in the law, that might have led to the ban of advertising billboards placements on the streets.
The goal of the meeting consisted in introducing through the proposed amendments, the relevant clarifications in the Law on roads, so as to prevent any negative consequences for the advertising sector and the local public administration. The meeting has been attended by Mr Andrei Usatii, State Secretary responsible for transport, EBA members from the advertising sector and representatives of the Advertising Agencies Association.
