On 20th December 2017, EBA participated in the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for environment and regional development, focused on discussing the draft law amending the Law 1540/1998 on pollution taxes, in particular referring to taxes applied to products that pollute the environment and to the taxes applied to packaging.
EBA reiterated its support for the approval of the draft law in order to eliminate the current uncertainties related to the application of the pollution taxes affecting both, the interest of importers and local producers, and to comply with the commitments of RM under WTO agreements and AA/DCFTA.
