EBA Moldova participates at the New Year Reception of the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry

On 23rd of January EBA Moldova participates at the New Year Reception of the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bucharest, this year the topic of the event being "Mobility and the importance of it in different economic domains". About 850 guests from economic, politic and cultural environment of Romania and Germany were present at the event organized at the Parliament Palace. The President of AHK Romania, dr. Radu Merica, addressed the audience a word of greeting and made an introduction to the topic of the event, reminding about facets of mobility and mentioning about the mobility in all the domains and about the mobility within the AHK Romania.

The Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany, E.S. Werner Hans Lauk, appreciated the perspectives of economic relations as being the best, more over that the economic environment in Europe is extending. He also mentioned about mobility, which he considered an important characteristic of German economy. German companies are producing in Romania components that are afterwards used at cars, trucks and planes, which offers at its turn, mobility to people. He regards the 2014 with optimism.

 Mrs. Andrea Schachter, head of International Monetary Fund mission for Romania and Honorary Guest at the Reception, appreciated the economic performances of Romania in 2013. Romania succeeded to overwhelm the economic crisis and to decrease the fiscal deficit of over 6.5% of PIB. There are also other issues to be solved, like those from infrastructure, especially those from the energetic and transport sector, also regarding unemployment among youth or the absorption of European funds.

The Head of State, Mr Traian Băsescu, present for the last time in this function at the New Year Reception, underlined the importance of competitiveness for Romanian economy. State sector must be restructured, investments have to be channeled towards modernization. The most important objective for Romania is to continue the process of European integration. The introduction of the educational professional system of nearly 4 years ago could solve step by step the issue of qualified labor force, an important and widely discussed topic by the German companies. German investments are overcoming 6 billion EURO, and Germany is placed on the third place among the foreign investors in Romania ranking. The President Băsescu referred also to "an extremely important step", namely liberalizing the circulation of labor force in Romania. He also hopes to start the process of entering of Romania into the the Schengen area by the end of the year, and phasing out the process of entering the EURO zone. Only after performing on these issues we could say: we did it! Regarding the agreement with IMF, Băsescu showed that he is supporting it. Finally, Băsescu thanked the German companies for what they achieved as a part of the Romanian economy.
