On 2nd of February, EBA organised in partnership with KPMG and Vernon David the annual event on tax and legislative forecasts for 2017. The discussions were focused on the main trends in Moldovan legislation and the challenges they pose to Moldovan companies and their employees, in areas of tax, customs, and labour force.
The Minister of Finance, Mr. Octavian Armasu, has described the initiatives of the ministry and the projected results. He also mentioned that the main focus for 2018 will be the harmonization of VAT and excise duties to EU legislation, and invited the event attendees to take part in the drafting process. Along with the public authorities, Mrs. Oana-Mihaela Motoi, Taxation Services Manager of KPMG Moldova, outlined the position of the private sector on the 2017 fiscal policy.
Mrs. Mariana Rufa, EBA Executive Director, has thanked the Minister and his team for their presence, and welcomed the initiatives of the ministry to align the legislation to EU standards and the openness of the public authorities to collaborate on such burning issues as the reform of public acquisitions and environment pollution taxes. EBA is happy to further continue the resultative cooperation and offer more practical insights to its members.
