On 24th of October, EBA Moldova participated at the 2nd Meeting of Donors for DCFTA (Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement) Implementation. Among participant organizations there were such international projects as EUBAM, EBRD, USAID, MIEPO, representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and EU Delegation to Moldova.
Mrs. Louka Katseli, Senior Economic Expert on the project "Support to the DCFTA Process in the Republic of Moldova", initiated the participants into how the AA (Association Agreement) evolved from negotiations to the document itself, spoke about the structure of the document and presented a scheme of coordination system for the implementation of the DCFTA in Republic of Moldova.
Considering the DCFTA Development Assistance and Capacity Building Program (DDAP), Mrs. Louka Katseli enumerated steps of its implementation and also aspects of DDCN (Donors Coordination Network) as the main instrument of implementation.
Mariana Rufa, Executive Director of EBA Moldova, informed the participants about the progresses achieved through DCFTA II project, which is in the course of implementation under a joint effort by EBA Moldova and Chamber of Trade and Industry of Moldova. She highlighted concrete actions undertaken within the project related to DCFTA implementation, namely practical guidance and assistance provided to the agro producers and processors and exporters in the RM in the process of accessing the EU market. In the meantime the Executive Director of EBA Moldova reiterated the importance of communication between the public and private sector, in order for the companies to see the actions taken towards the improvement of the business environment.
Every participant was invited to become part of the DDCN platform (Donors Coordination Network), which was considered to be a good initiative.
