EBA General Assembly and Networking Reception – A memorable evening surrounded by nature

Ms. Maia Sandu, President of the Republic of Moldova, together with His Excellency Janis Mažeiks, Ambassador of the European Union and Honorary President of the EBA, were guests of honor at the EBA General Assembly – an event that brought together high-ranking officials, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the business community from across the country, and the EBA Moldova community.

This year, EBA Moldova hosted for the first time a small fair for social entrepreneurs – an initiative dedicated to promoting social enterprises by providing a space where they could exhibit and sell their products, contributing to the strengthening of the social economy in the Republic of Moldova.

In her speech, Ms. Maia Sandu reiterated the essential role of EBA in the process of legislative harmonization in the context of European integration, as well as the valuable support provided by the association in promoting reforms and facilitating dialogue between the public and private sectors. At the same time, the President stressed the need for the active and collective involvement of central and local public authorities, together with the business community, in supporting this historic process for the country – aimed at ensuring security, stability, and sustainable development.

His Excellency Jānis Mažeiks, who is at the end of his term in the Republic of Moldova, thanked the EBA for its active involvement in supporting European integration – through expertise, constant dialogue with the authorities, but also by encouraging the participation of regional companies and social entrepreneurs in the development of entrepreneurial culture.

Carolina Bugaian, Chair of the EBA Council and CEO of Moldcell, reiterated the EBA's impressive results during 2024-2025, namely the drafting of around 80 position papers during this period, the drafting of five legislative packages that have a direct impact on business development in the Republic of Moldova, organizing over 50 events and practical workshops related to the practical implementation of reforms derived from the integration agenda, activities that contribute to business development, as well as the general entrepreneurial environment.

Veronica Malcoci, EBA Vice-President and General Manager of GRAWE Carat Asigurări, reiterated the EBA's support for the future agenda, ensuring communication of reforms at the regional level, emphasizing the need to develop the financial-banking and insurance sector in the Republic of Moldova, as well as the need for collective responsibility of business at the national level in promoting and implementing reforms, thus ensuring a consistent approach to the European integration agenda.

Mariana Rufa, CEO of EBA, thanked the EBA Board, experts from the EBA community, and the executive team for their active involvement in the policy and advocacy process, legislative harmonization, and the process of ensuring the necessary support for the private sector and representatives of the public sector in the practical implementation of the reforms on Moldova's European integration agenda.

Special thanks go to the main partner of the event, Moldcell, as well as to the partner who added flavor to the evening, Radacini Wines.

The event was accompanied by the music of the late composer Eugen Doga, and towards the end, the audience was treated to a guitar recital by the talented Călin Ganea, who performed songs from the international and Moldovan repertoire.
