EBA ENERGY TRANSITION AGENDA - 3rd edition, event organized by EBA in partnership with the Energy Community and the European Union, sponsored by Premier Energy Moldova, SEDERA, CWP.

EBA Energy Transition Agenda in its 3rd edition, this year in partnership with Energy Community - the largest event in the field of energy and renewables in the RM.

The event was launched by H.E. Mr. Janis Mazeiks EU Ambassador in Chisinau. ES Mr. Mazeiks reiterated that Moldova has managed to make progress in several areas of reforms in the energy and renewables sector, however on infrastructure projects it is important to complete the Vulcanesti-Chisinau high voltage power line and ensure the connection with Romania. The EU will continue to support the energy and renewable energy sector through assistance with legislative transposition, as well as support in developing and supporting renewable energy business. The electricity market needs to operate in accordance with EU-compliant legislation, including through the transposition of the balancing capacity framework, and there is already interest for investment in this area. It is imperative to ensure functional institutions in the energy sector and to mobilize the reform process, which implies a lot of responsibility also at the implementation stage. As strategic development partners - we will support this transition process, concluded Mr. Mazeiks.

Next, H.E. Mr. Kent D. Logsdon, US Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, specified the support provided by the US Government for the development of the energy and renewable energy sector in the Republic of Moldova, including through the USAID Moldova MESA Project. Thus, through the program, emergency generators, cybersecurity equipment and solar panels, as well as mechanisms to support business in the renewables sector have been offered. The U.S. Government is supporting capacity building in the energy sector by providing support to teams from the Moldovan Ministry of Energy, Moldova Electrica and Energocom. The US Government will support the integration of the RM into the European energy market.
