In a festive gala, held traditionally at the end of the year, the National Rugby Federation awarded the best athletes, coaches, referees and managers of sports schools. The event was attended by numerous personalities from the sport world, the Federation partners and representatives of the central authorities.
The best rugby player of Moldova in 2015 for the first time was designated Veaceslav Titica - captain of Moldova men's rugby team, and the best rugby player for the eighth consecutive time, became Oxana Bunici. Tatiana Hancu and Cristian Oslobanu were named the best juniors of the year. The best coach was appointed Alexander Matveev, and Anatolii Tipa received the award for the best referee. In the competition for the best team of the year, rugbysts from USEFS (State University of Physical Education and Sport) surpassed competing teams.
The best players nominated were highly appreciated by the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Youth and Sport and received cash prizes from the general partner of the Federation.
"It's a celebration for the Moldovan rugby because it records better and better results every year thanks to the sacrifice and effort. Moldovan rugby excelled with outstanding performance in recent years, the national rugby squad being declared "Team of 2015" by the Ministry of Youth and Sport for performances in European competitions.
