Consultation on the draft law on preventing violence and harassment at work – topic of discussion with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection

EBA Moldova took part in the meeting organized by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection to consult on the new version of the draft law aimed at aligning the Labour Code with the provisions of ILO Convention No. 190 on the elimination of violence and harassment in the world of work.

During the meeting, the following topics were discussed:

  • The updated draft law amending the Labour Code to align with ILO Convention No. 190;
  • The explicit definition and prohibition of violence and harassment in the workplace;
  • Employers’ obligations regarding the prevention, investigation, and sanctioning of workplace violence and harassment;
  • Employees’ rights to protection, counselling, and a safe working environment;
  • Mandatory internal procedures for reporting and resolving incidents.

EBA Moldova reiterated the importance of correctly applying the new provisions, ensuring predictability, clarity, and applicability for the business environment.
