On 5th of February 2018, EBA Moldova in collaboration with AmCham Moldova organized a business breakfast with H.E. Peter Michalko, Head of EU Delegation to Moldova and Honorary President of EBA Moldova.
The event was opened by Thomas Moser - President of EBA and Veronica Malcoci – President of AmCham. H.E. Peter Michalko highlighted in his opening speech the importance of the mutual cooperation regarding the implementation of the reforms and commitments of the "Moldova-EU Association Agreement", mentioning the need of tangible results and offering the continuous support and assistance in the development process. It was also reiterated on the need of pursuing to concrete implementation steps to be undertaken with necessary secondary legislation and needed regulations in place in the context of the important reforms launched in 2017.
An open dialogue between the member companies and H.E. Peter Michalko followed the opening speeches, touching issues and challenges in areas such as: the banking sector and the need of the EU support in getting integrated in the international financing programs; pending secondary legislation regarding renewable energy and legislation framework; issues regarding food safety and consumer rights; higher education development; labor market issues and development opportunities in sectors such as agriculture and automotive. Additional comments and insights were given by Vasile Plamadeala, Trade Officer of EU Delegation to Moldova and the Presidents of EBA and AmCham.
