EBA Moldova participated in the public consultations on the deregulation packages, held during the meeting of the National Commission for Consultations and Collective Bargaining.
The event brought together representatives of the government, ministries, labor unions, employers’ associations, the Secretariat of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, relevant institutions, and experts in the field to review proposals aimed at simplifying the regulatory framework and modernizing labor legislation.
During the meeting, participants discussed the proposals included in the deregulation packages promoted by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, including amendments to the Labor Code, the Law on Occupational Safety and Health, and other regulations relevant to the business environment.
The EBA reiterated the importance of a modern, clear, and predictable legal framework that reduces the administrative burden on employers, supports the economy’s competitiveness, and creates more attractive conditions for investment and job creation.
At the same time, the EBA emphasized the need to maintain a balance between streamlining procedures and protecting employees’ rights, in accordance with European Union legislation and the international conventions to which the Republic of Moldova is a party.
Consultations represent an important step in the process of finalizing balanced solutions, developed through dialogue between authorities, social partners, and the business community.
EBA Moldova appreciates the authorities’ openness to dialogue and will continue to actively contribute its expertise and constructive proposals to the process of modernizing the regulatory framework.
