EBA Moldova and its members support the promotion of Extended Producer Responsibility and the need to clarify the legislative aspects as well as the aspects of practical applicability for an effective implementation!
The EBA, represented by 19 companies, participated in the consultations organized on the platform of the Parliamentary Commission for Environment, Climate and Green Transition in the context of the recent amendments adopted to Law 1540/1998 regarding payment for environmental pollution through the adoption of Law no. 247 of 31.07.2023, and for the purpose of implementing Extended Producer Responsibility (REP) in the Republic of Moldova.
The European Business Association (EBA Moldova) reiterates the need to continue the efforts made to clarify the aspects of the applicability of the legislative provisions by the Ministry of the Environment, the Environment Agency and the State Fiscal Service, but also the need to make the most of the Extended Producer Responsibility system.
The main purpose of these amendments is to improve the efficiency of the waste collection, sorting and recycling process. Eugen Cozmulici, Policy & Advocacy Manager, coordinator of the EBA Green and Sustainable Economy Committee
