On 8th of July 2015, EBA Moldova participated at the meeting of the Economic Council of the Prime Minister with the topic “Implementation of DCFTA in RM, issue faced by the business environment”.
The interim Prime-Minister Natalia Gherman presided over the meeting of the Economic Council of the Prime-Minister of Republic of Moldova, in which have been examined the factors that influence the implementation of the Association Agreement between RM-UE, especially the component concerning the establishment of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA).
At the beginning of the session, Natalia Gherman mentioned that a year since the signing and ratification of the Association Agreement is necessary to analyze the impact of the accomplished actions, as well as to identify the measures taken for a better removal of barriers from the access of Moldavian goods on the EU market.
During the meeting EBA Moldova addressed the issue concerning: unilateral recognition of certificates and EU standards, simplification of the process of the homologation and certification (reducing the time by minimum 50% and the cost). Other issues addressed during the meeting were referring to: making necessary changes for the implementation of simplified customs clearance, decreasing the number of procedures, the number of documents and of necessary time for obtaining permissive acts for exports, ensuring the implementation of the European catalogue of seeds and fertilizers in national legislation.
EBA also presented the results of the DCFTA project financed by the Swedish Government through IFC, reiterating that number of 600 companies over the entire RM instructed and helped to diversify their trade with EU market. EBA has listed the lobby activities and position papers developed under the DCFTA project and results achieved so far (simplification of procedure of issuing phytosanitary certificates, customs export procedures etc.)
