Today took place the first meeting in this year of the Economic Council to the Prime-Minister, during which have been examined the results of the activity in 2014 and the priorities of the current year, in order to achieve the common objective of the Government and the business environment - economic development of Republic of Moldova.
The Prime-Minister Chiril Gaburici mentioned that the gatherings of the Council represent a dialogue platform between the Government and the business environment, necessary for assuring constructive consultations on actual topics from the economic area and adopting the decisions with maximum consideration for the interests and necessities of the private sector:"There should be a continuity in this dialogue and is important to find optimal solutions for creating favorable conditions of development for developing businesses and attracting investments in Republic of Moldova" mentioned the Prime-Minister.
During the meeting, the secretariat of the Economic Council to the Prime-Minister has reported the results of the activity of 2014. Among the achievements have been mentioned the measures taken for simplifying the procedures of launching of businesses and issuing of phitosanitary certificates at the export of agri-food products with lowering the related costs, removing the tax of 1,5% at the export of nut products, promoting electronic services in order to simplify the reporting procedures, as well as facilitating the access at financing the businesses.
Participants at the meeting have discussed about the priorities for the activity of the Council in the coming period and came with proposals for improving the conditions of doing business in our country. It was established that, at the end of the current year, to be convened at least 4 meetings of the Economic Council, and the next meeting to be dedicated towards all the aspects that concern the application of the provisions of the Association Agreement RM-EU, concerning the creation of the Free Trade Area.
The Economic Council to the Prime-Minister was created in December 2012, with the support of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in the capacity of the advisory body and has the mission of facilitating the dialogue between the representatives of the business community and the policy makers in regards to developing a favorable socio-economic business climate and a non-discriminatory business environment, transparent and favorable for investments. The activity of the institution is supported by the Secretary responsible for promoting and monitoring the decisions taken by the Council.
