On December 7, EBA participated at the 3rd edition of the EU4Business Economic Forum, organised by the EU Delegation to Moldova. Over one hundred company representatives, covering different industries, attended the event.
The forum was aimed at presenting the huge potential of EU-funded projects, as well as the EU-offered support to Moldova, especially in the private sector. In this regards, EBA developed the “DCFTA briefs” analysis, which summarizes the key-focus areas related to DCFTA, such as export/import related issues identified over 2016. In her presentation, Olesea Ghedrovici, EBA finance and tax expert, the author of the analysis, has presented statistical information, in addition to describing some of the issues under foreign trade transactions. Mariana Rufa, EBA executive director, presented a broader picture of the issues faced by the private sector, making reference to the deficiencies of the banking sector, justice and rule of law related reforms, customs and food safety agencies related challenges, in the context import and export, identified by business, and others.
According to the Ministry of Economy, exports from Moldova to the European Union reached 63,8 % in the first 6 months of the current year.
