On 27th of January, the Delegation of the European Union to Moldova organised the regular meeting with EU counsellors, at which EBA also took part.
One of the key subjects was the EBA presentation on the key business climate issues, faced by international and local businesses operating in Moldova.
Thomas Moser, EBA President, reiterated the key issues of banking, infrastructure, rule of law, legal framework, by giving some concrete examples of the legislation, in which EBA is heavily involved in the context of its lobby and advocacy agenda. Mariana Rufa, EBA Executive Director and Ecaterina Chirilenco, Lobby and Policy Manager, have presented a clearer picture in such areas as Labour Code, Waste Management, Customs Procedures, ANSA (National Food Safety Agency) procedures and issues businesses are facing in their sectors.
The EBA president has mentioned that currently EBA is drafting a brief policy paper, highlighting the key business issues, which will be presented to the public in the next 2 weeks.
