EBA promoting opportunities for Moldovan farmers to export animal origin products onto the EU market 
 
On July 1st EBA had a meeting with:
Koen Van Dyck - Directorate General for Health, and Food Safety of the European Commission (DG Sante D3), Head of Unit Bilaterial international relations;
Jan Bloemendal- Directorate General for Health, and Food Safety of the European Commission (DG Sante D3), International relations officer;
Ilona Gruenewald- Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, Programme Manager for Rural development and Agriculture;
Vasile Plamadeala- Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, Trade Officer.
The key subject of the discussion was to create possibility and technical support for Moldovan diary and meat processors to export composite/processed products onto the EU Market based on the raw material imported from EU. Over the meeting it was mentioned about the necessary investment support Moldova farmers need in order to increase the local production but also the necessary technological and certification capacity to align the products quality to EU Standards.
Mariana Rufa, EBA CEO, also mentioned about the imperative to enhance the national laboratories capacity so as to enable a wider variety of tests for animal origin products so as to diversify and boost exports onto the EU Market.
