The EBA Moldova team visits Lafarge Moldova, a member of the Holcim Group and EBA Moldova. EBA Moldova member, with 200 direct employees and 170 indirect employees, has been operating on the Moldovan market since 1999. It is a company with a high degree of adaptability to changes in the legislative framework and environmental requirements, including the use of waste in the production process.
By 2027, the company plans to invest €6 million in an investment project with government support to ensure the functionality of the waste grinding platform necessary to obtain and streamline energy consumption in the cement production process. Currently, 8% of the energy required in the production process is obtained from tyre waste.
During the visit, we discussed the company's development opportunities in the Republic of Moldova.
The company has set a target of 50% fossil fuel substitution in the production process by 2035!
