On 29th of September, EBA members attended the meeting of the EBA Regulatory Reform Committee. This meeting focused on permissive acts related issues and offered a platform for dialogue with representatives from the Ministry of Economy and the International Finance Corporation of World Bank.
The role of this session was to ensure an open public-private dialogue. EBA Lobby and Advocacy Officer Ecaterina Chirilenco led the meeting, where EBA members presented and explained their issues regarding this reform by presenting the changes to be addressed. The members accentuated that a clear mechanism needs to be put in place for best sectorial collaborations. Such input, together with informational support from the authorities, is crucial for successfully realizing the reform. Public consultations will be launched over the period of one month and creating an electronic infrastructure with maximum 200 permissive acts in 1 and a half year is sought-after. The private sector needs to take this working list as a starting point and look at it highly critically, in order to ensure a successful and timely legal reengineering. This is why the meetings of this committee will continue to take place.
EBA thanks those present for their active involvement and support and hopes to further drive the right changes and ease the life of business community in Moldova.
