Further discussions on environmental payments for pollution

On May 2, following the meeting with the State Fiscal Service on the issue of calculating the environmental payments for pollution, a new meeting took place between EBA members, and the State Fiscal Service and State Environmental Inspectorate. The meeting was organised with the support of the Economic Council to the Prime Minister working group on Trade Facilitation, presided by EBA.

The discussions were focused on the calculation of taxes imposed through the Law 1540/1998. The main topics were the establishment of taxation subject, transparency of control procedures and complexity of the tax calculation. As a result of the meeting, several important steps are to be taken in the nearest future, such as elaboration of clear criteria for establishing the subject of taxation, modification of the reporting period, and others.
