The Government and business associations are consolidating their efforts for eradicating the constraints in developing businesses in Republic of Moldova

On 6th of April, the Prime Minister Mr. Chiril Gaburici had a meeting with representatives of business associations from Republic of Moldova. The dialogue was based on the concerns of the business environment from Republic of Moldova. During the meeting have been presented the Recommendations of the business community for eradicating the constraints in doing business, elaborated by three business associations: American Chamber of Commerce of Moldova, European Business Association and Foreign Investors Association.

According to Mrs. Silvia Radu, president of European Business Association, the document in question concerns the vision of the associations that participated at elaborating it, but represents the opinion of the majority of foreign investors that activate in Republic of Moldova. The authors claim that the respective recommendations will contribute in filling the budget revenues, in increasing the social assistance, increasing the salaries and financing the infrastructure projects.

The Prime-Minister thanked the interlocutors for the respective document, mentioning that it will be carefully analyzed by the Government team. “Attracting investments in countries economy is one of the priorities of the Government. We must unite the efforts for achieving our common objective – creating a favorable environment for developing businesses and attracting investments” mentioned Chiril Gaburici. In this context, the Prime-Minister reiterated the openness of the Government for an efficient collaboration with all the partners, urging them to be actively implicated in this process.

During the meeting, the parties have made an exchange of opinions regarding the priority actions of the Government for improving the investment climate in Republic of Moldova. Among the most burning issues have been mentioned: the necessity of respecting the legislation concerning the transparency in decisions, improving the regulatory framework of labor legislation, as well as developing mechanisms for conflict mediation in business. In this regard, was decided to organize periodical consultations, including the participation of other interested factors, for identifying compromise solutions on each subject.
