On 13 May 2016, EBA members enjoyed a bold and open discussion with HE James D. Pettit, U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova. The Ambassador shared his views about the current business climate in Moldova, the main challenges the Government has to address in order to improve the regulatory environment and the key reforms to be implemented in order to comply with the conditions allowing to restore the budget support and financial assistance offered by external donors.
At the same time, his excellency mentioned that the aid programs and the US assistance to Moldova for the next five-year time framework will amount to USD 48 million. Equally, James D. Pettit acknowledged that the conditions for entrepreneurs in Moldova remain to be hard, nevertheless there is potential for business development and investment attraction.
