On June 16, the official launching of the National Trade Facilitation Committee (CNFC) took place, the function of which has been assigned to the Economic Council to the Prime Minister. The meeting was presided by Octavian Calmac, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, in the presence of representatives of World Bank, USAID, GIZ, European Union Delegation, Embassies, as well as representatives of the private sector (EBA) and the Ministry of Economy, Customs Service, ANSA, ANTA and Border Police. The main purpose of the committee would be to identify the obstacles in the way of cross-border trade and the development of solutions within the public-private dialogue.
CNFC will consist of 22 public authorities, 34 business associations and 15 international organisations in the area of business environment reforms, and the scientific community. Within the launching event, the Action Plan Draft for implementing the Trade Facilitation Agreement and the Recommendations of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe were also presented. The Action Plan is developed for the next 3 years, and will be submited to the Government for approval.
