Mariana Rufa, CEO of the European Business Association of Moldova, accompanied by her team, recently visited DRÄXLMAIER Moldova – a pillar of the country's automotive industry and an EBA member with strategic activity in the premium automotive supply chain. This visit is part of the EBA's ongoing efforts to stay close to the current challenges and opportunities of its member companies.
About the DRÄXLMAIER Moldova Group:
The DRÄXLMAIER Group Moldova is part of the German DRÄXLMAIER Group, founded in 1958, present in 20 countries, with approximately 70,000 employees worldwide and revenues of approximately €5.5 billion in 2024. The DRÄXLMAIER Group has been operating in Moldova since 2007: the first wiring harness factory in Bălți, expanded in 2011-2017, a design office in Chișinău (2017) and a factory in Cahul since 2019, with approximately 5,000 employees. The products manufactured by the DRÄXLMAIER Group in Moldova are engine wiring harnesses, KSK wiring harnesses, battery systems and environmental modules for brands such as Audi, Lamborghini, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, etc.
The discussions addressed the challenges and prospects specific to the automotive sector:
- Assessing the need for investment in technology and production capacity in the context of the transition to electric mobility.
- Analysing the importance and potential of the automotive sector in the national and regional economy.
- Identifying opportunities for synergy between EBA and DRÄXLMAIER Group Moldova to support democratic development, exports and connection to European supply chains.
Through such meetings, the Association strengthens its role as a strategic partner, directly supporting companies in its community for a sustainable economic future.
