Amendments to the Insolvency Law No. 149/2012 were discussed in an online technical meeting organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of the RM

EBA Moldova participated in the meeting, during which several important aspects were highlighted:
- strengthening at national level a legal framework oriented towards preventing insolvency and rescuing viable enterprises, before financial difficulties degenerate into insolvency;
- moving from a predominantly reactive approach to a model that favors early intervention, where there are real prospects for recovery
- creating a more predictable and functional framework for debtors and creditors, including by facilitating the negotiation of restructuring plans, protecting business continuity and stimulating the financing necessary for recovery
- the importance of involving the business community to ensure a balance necessary for the efficient functioning of a national regulatory framework aligned with EU legislation.

EBA was represented by Nadejda Chirita, Policy and Advocacy Manager.

Given that EBA supports the development of a transparent and functional framework, we will submit a position paper to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, with concrete proposals to improve the national regulatory framework, aligned with community legislation.
