EU-Republic of Moldova Civil Society Platform Meeting

On April 24, 2026, in Chisinau, the 17th meeting of the EU-Republic of Moldova Civil Society Platform took place, during which European and national officials reaffirmed the strategic importance of the Republic of Moldova in the European Union enlargement process, as well as the essential role of civil society in supporting and monitoring reforms.

The European Business Association (EBA), represented by Stanislav Petrascu, Policy and Advocacy Manager, participated in the meeting as a speaker in the panel dedicated to monitoring the implementation of the EU-RM Reform Agenda and the Growth Plan.

In this context, the EBA presented the position of the business environment, expressing its willingness to actively contribute to the country's efforts in the EU accession process, with an emphasis on the balanced transposition and implementation of community policies.

In the final declaration, the members of the Platform called for the opening of negotiations on the fundamental chapters without delay, as well as the strengthening of public consultation mechanisms and administrative capacity.

At the same time, they highlighted the need to continue reforms in the field of justice, combat hybrid threats and disinformation, as well as maintain the support of the European Union, including in the energy sector, in the context of regional security challenges.

The EBA remains an active partner in supporting the European path of the Republic of Moldova and in promoting a constructive dialogue between the authorities, the business environment and civil society.
