EBA Moldova participated in the working meeting organized by the National Confederation of Employers of the Republic of Moldova (CNPM), dedicated to strengthening the business community’s common position on the draft Budget, Fiscal, and Customs Policy.
EBA was represented by Nicolae Crețu of SAIPH Consulting House and Sandra Dolghii, EBA Policy & Advocacy Manager.
During the meeting, the proposals and comments submitted by the member organizations of the National Confederation of Employers of the Republic of Moldova were analyzed, and the provisions with the greatest impact on business operations were identified, along with the priorities that will form the basis of the confederation’s common position in its dialogue with public authorities.
EBA reiterated the main concerns of its business community, as reflected in the Position Paper submitted to the National Confederation of Employers of the Republic of Moldova, including the need to maintain a competitive and predictable tax framework, to review certain VAT changes, improving the legal framework governing the activities of independent entrepreneurs, and preserving key incentives for sectors with significant economic and investment impact.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of active internal dialogue among employers’ organizations and of leveraging sector-specific expertise in the public policy-making process. A unified position on the part of employers—one that is well-reasoned and supported by the entire business community—provides stronger and more credible representation in dealings with decision-makers.
As the draft is set to undergo the review and approval stages, EBA Moldova reaffirms its commitment to contribute, alongside the National Confederation of Employers of the Republic of Moldova and its member organizations, to promoting solutions that ensure a predictable, fair, and competitive tax and customs framework capable of stimulating investment, the development of entrepreneurship, and economic growth.
The business community’s consolidated position will be promoted during the next stages of the consultation and review process for the draft, with a view to supporting the legitimate interests of the business community.
