Technical meeting with Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment on the issue of Waste Management and associated legislation

On October, 25th  EBA had a meeting with the Mr. Nicolae Ciubuc, Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment on the issue of Waste Management and associated legislation. 

The meeting was aimed at presenting the position of business community on Packaging regulation in the context of the other existing legal frameworks and the overall impact on the business community. 

The Minister, Mr Nicolae Ciubuc, was informed about the existing challengies related to the existing gaps and deficiencies related to the wastes managements system in Moldova and presented a series of alternatives to be considered by the business community. It was also proposed to organise an additional meeting with all the stakeholders on the platform of Prime Minister Economic Council and seek practical ways to address the legal divergencies as well as private sector needs in the context of EPR (Extended Producer Responsability) implementation in MOldova .
