EU stands behind Moldovan business development despite political turmoil

On December 9^th, 2015 EBA Moldova members had the opportunity to get a direct insight on the most important issues affecting the Moldovan political and business environment from the EU Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Pirkka Tapiola.

The discussion focused on existing perspectives for business development in Moldova, with remarks on DCFTA implementation, export tendencies and the status of political and economic relations between Moldova and the EU.

His Excellency stressed that despite unstable political circumstances, EU preserves a positive feeling about country’s business and population, wishing for it to move forward. Equally, he pointed out that trade towards EU has increased which shows that Moldova is going into the right direction. Nonetheless, more investments coming from the EU would contribute not only to improving the economic situation, but also at addressing the demographic issue in Moldova.
