Did you know that plastic bags, cling film, and even plastic foil covers for clean clothes in dry cleaners are considered packaging under current legislation?
Yesterday, March 12, we held a practical training to clarify the impact of the new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations and environmental fee reporting.
A key topic discussed was the criteria that define an object as packaging, according to HG 561/2020. Examples discussed included:
- Plastic or paper bags
- Disposable plates and cups
- Cling film
- Plastic film covers for clean clothes in dry cleaners
Grigore Stratulat, State Secretary, Ministry of Environment, explained the new regulations on EPR and waste management.
Igor Stavinschi, Head of Indirect Taxes Directorate, SFS, detailed the requirements for environmental tax reporting according to Law 1540/1998.
Thank you EBA members for your interest! We continue to provide support to business for a clear and efficient transition to the new legislative requirements.
