On March 10, EBA Moldova has participated in the meeting of Prime Minister’s Economic Council, where the overall activity for 2016 has been reported.
Mariana Rufa, the chair of the Working Group on Trade Facilitation under the PM Economic Council, has highly appreciated the activity of the PM Economic Council by qualifying it as dynamic and result-oriented. She has praised the support of the Prime Minister in the areas of labour legislation, control and inspection reform. Mrs Rufa has also presented the achievements of the first 3 months of 2017 in such areas as customs administration, namely the simplification of the certificate of origin issuing procedure for exporters, reduction of the pollution tax rate for the importers of various kind of packages and application of the new mechanism in this regard, issues faced by businesses in import and export related procedures associated with the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA), etc.
In addition to the aforementioned results, she has reiterated the importance of consequent approach in advancing the initiated reforms in the area of labour legislation, control and inspections, specifically when it comes to their application.
