On 15th of February, EBA Moldova participated in a technical meeting organized by the National Agency for Food Safety, aiming to improve the draft Government Decision on approving Tariff Calculation Methodology, Nomenclature of services and tariffs for services rendered by the National Agency for Food Safety.
EBA Moldova mentioned the need to ensure a transparent and clear mechanism of the calculation and application of the tariffs separated on three types of control - documentary, identity and physical controls, based on the application of the risk analysis principle.
At the same time, EBA Moldova does not consider to be appropriate the equivalence of the amount of Moldovan tariffs to the European taxes charged for official controls at the border inspection post. The tariffs applied for the control of imported goods, subject of the veterinary, phytosanitary and food safety control are to be determined based on the current economic situation of the country (including the average salary on economies) and the need to stimulate business and investments in RM, without imposing additional financial burden on the private sector.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the ANSA, EU Delegation in Chisinau, Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Reform Implementation Center, AmCham, FIA and CNPM.
