On May 30, taking account of the new draft law that pursues complex amendments to the Civil Code, initiated by the Ministry of Justice, EBA organised a workshop for its members to discuss the main changes introduced by the new draft law. The presentation was made by Octavian Cazac (Partner, Turcan Cazac Law Firm), member of the working group set-up in order to draft the new amendments to the Civil Code.
Octavian Cazac presented the concept of the project and clarified some aspects of the voluminous changes, the endorsement period, and also some shortcomings of the present code. He analysed the comments submitted by EBA members on the draft law and answered their questions. Those present discussed the new paragraphs and procedures, referring to topics such as the terms of professional and consumer, contract payment, litigation, administrator credentials, etc.
At the moment, the project is at the stage of public debates.
