On May 25, within the Economic Council to the Prime Minister platform, and with the participation of the Ministry of Economy, the amendments that are to be made in the Law 10/2016 on promoting the use of energy from renewable sources were debated.
During the meeting, the reasons for delaying the commencement of the document have been clarified. Representatives of the private sector underlined that promoting the use of energy from renewable sources would be a solution for the energetic stability of the country, with serious investments being prepared for this sector. The discusssions on the text of the law and on the subsidiary acts will continue, and the package of amendments to the law will be submitted to the Government for approval.
EBA accentuated that the implementation of the Law 10/2016 provisions will considerably depend on such institutions as the National Energy Regulatory Agency and the Energy Efficiency Agency, including the development and application of the legislative framework, subsidiary to the law. At the moment, these institutions don’t have sufficient institutional competences and depend on projects assistance, which could delay the definite enforcement of the Law 10/2016.
