EBA Policy Visit to Brussels

From December 10 to 12, EBA Moldova is visiting Brussels. The delegation is represented by the leadership of EBA member companies.

The purpose of this visit is to outline the successes that Moldova has achieved on the path to EU accession, as well as to share the challenges and solutions in this regard.

The first day of the visit included meetings with:
- Siegfried Muresan, Member of the European Parliament, Co-chair of the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee
- Raluca PRUNA, Head of Financial Crime Unit (FISMA D2)
- Tilman LUEDER, Head of Insurance and Pensions Unit (FISMA.D.4)
- Ville MAJAMAA, Team Leader, ENEST C2: Moldova
- Alexandra JANOVSKAIA, ENEST C2: Moldova
- Sacha BEPOLDIN, ENEST C2: Moldova
- Alexandre DARRAS, ENEST A3: Private Sector Engagement

The meetings covered topics related to the implementation of the Growth Plan and the involvement of the private sector in this regard, the predictability and transparency of EU fund absorption, maintaining energy independence, advancing capital market development, and private pension funds.

On the second day of their visit to Brussels, the delegation from the European Business Association Moldova met with the following officials:
- Ms. Yolanda Garcia Mezquita, Head of Unit, DG ENERGY,
- Ms. Renate Nicolay, Deputy Head of Unit, DG CONNECT,
- H.E. Ms. Daniela Morari, Ambassador, Mission of the Republic of Moldova to Brussels
- Mr. Victor Negrescu, Vice-President of the European Parliament

The meetings provided a unique opportunity to present the contribution of EBA Moldova through local and international expertise in advancing the accession process, implementing the Reform Agenda, and supporting the legislative harmonization process.

Certain challenges related to the implementation of the legal framework were also outlined, reiterating the solutions examined by the business community in this regard. All officials reiterated the imperative of consolidating efforts related to the negotiation stage that will soon be launched.
