On April 5-8, the European Business Association, with the financial support of the European Union and the co-financing of Sweden through the Eastern European Foundation within the project "Civil society contributes to the inclusive and sustainable economic development of the country" organized a 2-day study visit in Cluj, in order to exchange experience and learn from the best practices to support the regional business.
The Ist day of the visit included meetings at:
- Babes-Bolyai University, Faculty of Economics, the purpose of the discussions being the collaboration between the private sector and the Faculty of Economics and the programs implemented in this regard.
- Also, the representatives of the delegation had meetings with the Vice President of the County Council Mr. Vákár István, who presented the way of collaborating with the business as well as the projects carried out in this regard.
- The participants of the delegation visited the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca, participating in a discussion with Mr. Rector Cornel Catoi and his team. The discussions focused on the collaboration projects that the university should carry out together with the economic agents in order to promote Eco products.
- The delegation had discussions with the Senator from the Romanian Parliament Mr. Adrian Oros and a group of businessmen from the IT, Communication, BPO and technology sectors.
The IInd day of the mission included visits to:
- Cluj Innovation Park, the largest hub dedicated to technology transfer and creative industries. There took place a discussion with the President of the Transylvanian Cluster Association, Ana Pascalau.
- Cluj-Napoca City Hall hosted by Deputy Mayor Mr. Dan Stefan Tarcea. Mr. Tarcea presented the collaboration of the City Hall team with the business and the projects that the City Hall has developed for the business.
- AXON Soft Company, which has developed applications that are among the 10 most used applications worldwide.
- Visit to Tetarom Industrial Parks, the most successful industrial park in Romania that hosts the largest investors such as Bosch, Emmerson, Dilonghi, etc.
The day ended with a discussion with Dr. Vasile Puscas, former Minister of European Affairs, who reiterated the importance and implications of a process of accession to the European Union, the negotiation process and the need for reforms that are imperative for success in obtaining membership.
