The European Business Association (EBA Moldova) participated in the first consultative meeting convened by the Minister of Energy, Mr. Dorin Junghietu, which brought together representatives of state-owned enterprises, energy sector associations, and private companies.
The meeting marked the beginning of an institutional dialogue between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova and the business community, at the start of a new term, regarding the sector’s main challenges, reform priorities, and the strengthening of cooperation aimed at developing a competitive, predictable energy market aligned with European standards.
EBA welcomes this initiative and reaffirms its willingness to contribute, through the expertise of its members, to the development and promotion of public policies that support the sustainable development of the energy sector in the Republic of Moldova.
Among the main priorities presented by the EBA are:
- strengthening energy security through integration into the European Union’s energy market and diversification of energy supply sources;
- accelerating investments in electricity grids, renewable energy production, baseload and peaking generation capacity, as well as in the flexibility of the energy system;
- completing the liberalization of the electricity and natural gas markets;
- strengthening governance and the predictability of the regulatory framework;
- maintaining an ongoing and constructive dialogue with the business community.
EBA was represented by Mrs. Tatiana Gotișan, Chair of the EBA Energy and Infrastructure Committee and Director of Energy Regulation, Tariffs, and Procurement at Premier Energy Moldova, and Mariana Rufa, EBA CEO.
EBA Moldova will continue to promote active dialogue between the authorities and the business community, contributing to the development of a modern, competitive, and sustainable energy sector.
