On 20th of March, EBA Moldova launched the first session of the Agriculture Committee. At the meeting participated representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA), Moldo Fruct Association, economic agents from RM. The meeting was supported by the ACED Project, financed by USAID.
The meeting started with a presentation given by Mrs. Inga Ionesii, director of General Direction of Commercial Politics, Ministry of Economy, regarding DCFTA and its impact on exporters of agri-food products. The presentation was followed by a session of questions and answers moderated by Mrs. Mariana Rufa, executive director of EBA Moldova. Mrs. Rufa presented the goals of the EBA Committee of Agriculture and specifically the identification and analyze of the most frequent issues which exporters of fruits and vegetables are facing, at the present moment, on the EU market. There were discussed some of these issues, like fito-sanitary certification, the procedure of repatriation of funds, import taxes for products of packing/wrapping and post-harvest equipment etc.
EBA together with its partners will come with a list of proposals that will be discussed with the exporters. Afterwards, the proposals will be submitted to the state institutions for examination.
