EBA Moldova and GIZ Moldova held the second mentoring and peer learning session titled "Green, Resilient, and Climate-Oriented Practices – Practical Aspects", within the framework of the #PROGRESS project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection through the International Climate Initiative (IKI).

The workshop was tailored for stakeholders involved in the value chains of nut crops (such as walnuts and almonds) and stone fruits, aiming to facilitate knowledge transfer and the exchange of best practices in the field of sustainable agriculture.

Key topics addressed included climate change adaptation, soil health preservation, the use of fertilizers, and irrigation management.

Participants benefited from the insights of farmers from Romania, who shared practical advice and lessons learned from their ongoing efforts to adapt to climate change – including the selection and testing of climate-resilient crop varieties, as well as maximizing the efficient use of water resources.

Through the two mentoring sessions – one held in person and the other online – a total of five modules were delivered, providing hands-on support to horticultural producers and nut growers in adopting sustainable agricultural practices.
